Vinhal Lot 33 is a unique microlot produced by Rafael Vinhal of Vinhal Farm. Nicknamed ‘honey propolis’, this double-fermented honey-process coffee is just one of the experimental microlots pushing the boundaries of specialty coffee coming from Brazil. With a creamy chocolate mouthfeel, subtle red apple sweetness, and a smooth butterscotch finish, this coffee is perfect for milky and black coffees alike.
Vinhal Lot 33, produced by Rafael Vinhal at the Vinhal family farm, is one of several special process Vinhal microlots. Vinhal farm prioritises operating sustainably from an environmental, social and legislative perspective, alongside their passion for high quality coffee. They have certifications from the Rainforest Alliance, 4C, and Certifica Minas, which amounts to the farm complying with over 100 evaluation criteria ensuring good practices are used throughout the entire production chain.
Outside of their high sustainability standards, Vinhal farm is more commonly known for its pioneering contributions to Brazil’s specialty coffee processing methods. Rafael’s microlots are renowned for challenging the misconception that Brazilian coffees are limited to tasting like chocolate and nuts. This particular coffee underwent two separate fermentation stages and a thermal shock stage, all on top of the standard washing, depulping and drying stages of processing.
