Located in the region of Chapada de Minas Gerais, Matilde farm has 550 hectares of coffee planted at an average altitude of 1060 MASL. Ricardo and Leonardo Tavares are third generation coffee growers, who produce coffees of many different processing methods, red and yellow catuai, as well as yellow bourbon.
Throughout the farm there are mahogany trees that shade the coffee crops, slowing the maturation of the cherries, encouraging sweetness and unique characteristics in the cup. This particular lot from Matilde farm is a natural process red catuai.
Sourced for us by Southland Merchants, this coffee is available roasted for espresso and boasts creamy notes of chocolate, Nutella, and nutmeg.
